Challenge Six

The Challenge:

On some levels, I didn't get any weapons but on some levels I had to choose very carefully which weapon to take with me. It turns out that there is not very much flexibility if you are going to also get Silent Assassin. For example, the SP12 is only available on two levels, Temple City and St. Pete Revisited. You really have to get the W2000 on St. Pete because the only other level that has it is Invitation to a Party and you can't take it away from that level and still get Silent Assassin. So that means you can't get the purple turban dude's SMG-SD6 in Temple City. The SMG-SD6 is very similar to the SMG except for one thing. The SD6 has a noise suppressor on it and therefore cannot be concealed like the SMG. This makes it a long weapon and therefore more difficult to collect. The SD6 can only be found lying around on the Shogun Showdown level and you can't get it there because you have to get the katana on that level. (It's in the museum) Getting the katana on any other level would mean the almost impossible task of taking out a katana wielding ninja without losing your silent assassin rank. This means you have to get the SD6 in At The Gates because that's the only level where you have to take out a guard that's carrying one. Take my word for it, there are only a couple of long weapons, like the AK and the SVD, where you have a choice of where to get it.

So now you ask, "What about the Custom Rifle?" I have to get the Crossbow in Hidden Valley and the SD6 in At the Gates so where do I get the Custom Rifle? Good question. ;) You have to kill Sergei with it. It's not that hard but save your game right before you flush Sergei out of the confession booth. I had to do it in one shot to comply with my other rules.

Late update: It is definitely possible to complete this challenge successfully but I am having trouble getting screenshots of all the weapons.

Later update: Okay so it was a little tricky to get to where I could get the screenshots of all the weapons. It may just be bugginess. I had to load some other level first, I chose St. Pete revisited, then once I was in that level, hit escape and select Missions. Then from the Missions list select the last Redemption on the list and then get to the weapons shed safely enough to not have to take a weapon off the wall. Then they were all there. If there is an easier way, let me know but this worked fine for getting the screenshots.

Note that the golf club, fiber wire and the crucifix are missing. Like I said before, it appears impossible to get both a golf club and a shotgun so I chose the shotgun because it has a little more range. ;) I've never seen the "alleged" crucifix or the fiber wire hanging in the shed so they don't count.

On that last time around, I cleared the rest of the Gontranno level in about two minutes using the SP-12 and then the M-4.
