We have done a little digging, genealogy is not really one of my hobbies though, and as far as we can tell, most of the people named Reveile in the U.S. can be traced back to a guy by the name of Michael Riley Reveal who lived about five or six generations ago.
People always ask me if my name is French and if so does it mean anything like "to dream" or "to wake up". We'll post the answer here as soon as we know for sure. ;) One of my daughters is taking French in school so we should know soon.
We suspect that the spelling of the name had more to do with our ancestors lack of formal education, specifically in the domain of letters, than it did with anything that was meant to be translated from any particular language.
We do have quite a bit more information about the name Reveile and also about our own family tree so we'll try to post some of it here when we get the chance. Then maybe some of you other Reveiles out there can check to see whether our family trees collide or not.

If your name is Reveile, we'd like to put your information on this web site, just what you're willing to share. There's nothing automated yet but drop us a line and we'll give you a page here on the web site. You can safely display information on these pages that spammers will not be able to harvest automatically due to an "obfuscation" feature. Even if you don't want to share your information publicly, we'd like to keep some private contact info about you and give you a chance to get back to anyone who stumbles on us looking for you.
We can also give you an email address with Reveile.org as the domain name. Of course we can only give you one that's not already taken. Then that address can forward to your regular email address. Wouldn't it be cool to have your email address the same as your name like or something. To show you that email address obfuscation works, try viewing the source of this page in your browser and looking for the fake email address in the previous sentence or even just the word . It actually shows up as Obo@Erirvyr.bet.

We're trying to post a family tree? here and include everybody within a couple links of a person named Reveile. We don't have to have your personal info unless you want us to, and even then, we won't share it without your permission. You are looking for a Reveile Family Tree
Well it's not quite ready yet but eventually we'd like to have a family tree including a spot for every known person named Reveile, there can't be that many right. ;) I installed a genealogy portal? and did some work and uploaded a GEDCOM file to it but it still needs some work before it can be made fully interactive. Until I get it straightened out a little I'm going to leave it read-only. Send us your Reveile family tree information and we'll try to connect it to what we already have.
